Rapper Waka Flocka Flame (Juaquin James Malphurs), 28, who was due to perform April 25 at a concert at the University of Oklahoma on Monday announced that he was canceling the gig after reportedly watching a video showing members of the school's Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) fraternity singing racist chants about African-Americans.

In an Instagram post, Waka Flocka wrote: "I'm disgusted and disappointed in the actions of the SAE fraternity at the University of Oklahoma....I know for a fact the whole school and SAE don't agree with those kids actions so know that I'm not mad at the whole #SAE just those disgusting kids. We can't change history but we damn sure can create our own future #DeathToRacism."

The University of Oklahoma (OU) itself closed its campus chapter of the fraternity linked to the offensive video of students singing the racial epithets, ordered its members to move out of the frat house and labeled the actions of those involved "disgraceful." University President David Boren that Monday announced: "Effective immediately, all ties and affiliations between the university and the local SAE chapter are hereby severed. To those who have misused their free speech in such a reprehensible way, I have a message for you. You are disgraceful."

Boren also held a press conference where he said the fraternity would not be allowed back on campus as long as he is president and that the university has launched an investigation to see if individual members can be punished.

The Sigma Alpha Epsilon's national leadership after verifying that its OU members were involved released a statement saying: "We apologize for the unacceptable and racist behavior of the individuals in the video, and we are disgusted that any member would act in such a way."

The 10-second video in question was posted online on Sunday and was soon replayed by media outlets. On it, students on a bus were seen chanting in unison, using offensive language referring to blacks and vowing to never admit them into the fraternity.
