Hot Pursuit: First Official Poster and Trailer Now out for Upcoming Action Comedy Starring Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara

Hot Pursuit, a Warner Bros. Pictures, New Line Cinema and MGM production, is set for showing in cinemas beginning May 8.  An action comedy directed by Anne Fletcher and written by David Feeney and John Quaintance, the film stars Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara. The first official trailer and movie poster have already been released to the press.

The film's plot follows what happens when an uptight, by-the-book and possibly inept cop named Officer Cooper (Witherspoon) tries to protect Daniella (Vergara), the sexy, outgoing, overly exuberant widow of a drug boss, as they race through Texas, with a legion of crooked cops and murderous gunmen in hot pursuit. But then, as the tagline in the teaser says, these two ladies are "armed and sort of dangerous!"

Also starring in the film are Jodi Lyn Brockton, Michael Mosley, John Carroll Lynch, Robert Kazinsky, Sean Penn, Matthew Del Negro, Richard T. Jones, David Oyelowo, and Evaluna Montaner. Previously tentatively titled "Don't Mess with Texas," the scenes in Hot Pursuit which supposedly take place in Texas were largely shot in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Production on the film was reportedly fast tracked to take advantage of the seasonal break of ABC's Modern Family sitcom series where Vergara regularly stars as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett, a role for which she was nominated for four Golden Globe Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards, and seven Screen Actors Guild Awards. On the big-screen, the 42-year-old Colombian-American actress, comedienne, TV personality, model and businesswoman was recently seen as DD in Wild Card and as Inez in Chef.

Aside from starring, Witherspoon is also a producer in Hot Pursuit along with Dana Fox and Bruna Papandrea through their Pacific Standard production company. Her latest film credits include starring in Jean-Marc Vallée's Wild, Paul Thomas Anderson's Inherent Vice and Philippe Falardeau's The Good Lie and producing David Pincher's Gone Girl.
