The tip of the roof of Campus 2 "Spaceship" is now visible from the ground as it tops out of the construction walls.  The concrete void slabs being used to make the interlocking structure of the building are also visible.

Apple revealed that the void slabs were being sourced from Clark Pacific firm. Clark Pacific in its own turn revealed that they had developed a unique structural design in order to make it suitable for Apple's Campus 2. Clark Pacific has reportedly four plants dedicated to producing products for Apple's Campus 2. The slabs would form the ceiling of one floor and support for the next.

Steve Jobs had revealed the project in 2011, claiming that the 2.8 million square foot 'Spaceship' would employ 12000 employees. The structure would house landscape surroundings with orchards, fruit trees, walking paths and greenery. The Campus 2 is set to include a large underground amphitheater. This would be used to hold Apple's media briefings which are currently being held at other San Francisco locations

Previously released model of the Spaceship showed a steel structure holding up a large open dining room area with tree-height ceilings and a glass curtain. The aerial tours released later, revealed tunnels designed to connect the parking lots to the garages taking shape.

The building that gained its last approval not even 2 years back is quickly proceeding towards completion over a 150-acre plot.  The work on the Campus 2 is progressing aggressively with a set goal of occupancy by 2016.

Apple is taking all the care and detailed attention to construct the campus. It hopes to replace the 2.8 million square foot of waste to a productive research and development campus.
