Bloodborne opens with the player being killed slowly.  Suddenly, you are being knocked out by some vicious monster with a religious background.  Having a taste of the terror, you live with it and let it consume you even your brain.  Being submitted to such monstrosity is the theme of this game.

For Bloodborne fans familiar with how it goes, they won't be surprised on how terrifying it can be especially with the disturbing sounds on the background.  This role-playing third person action game shows that the vicar is one of the bosses.  Most striking image to be seen is a crucified bloodied figure which is worshipped by mindless creatures which poisons upon its attack.  Player should find a way to not to be hypnotized by the chant and hum of the worshippers.

The goal of Bloodborne is to suck the player's hope, charity and faith from their religious devotion and becoming a disciple and spreading the false faith by the vicar.

Developer From Software is successful in doing this type of storytelling in Bloodborne.  It makes you think on which way to go to avoid being sucked into the wrong way of thinking to spread havoc and disturbance in your mind.  This game will make you face tough situations and you need to think outside the box to get a solution.

Bloodborne does not tell you what you are supposed to do once you are in a situation.  It is up to the player to look for visual aids that may lead you to the right path.  Getting stuck means you are thinking logically in a game where logic is not needed.  You just have to listen to dialogues and scenes and from there get the information you need to get out of that ordeal.  When you see enemies attacking from above, it only means that there is a way for you to escape going up.  And that is not logic.
