AMC Networks Now Available on PlayStation Vue

AMC and other AMC Networks channels including IFC, Sundance, and WeTV have joined PlayStation Vue, Sony's new cloud-based TV service that is currently available in New York, Philadelphia, and Chicago, but only for the PS4 and PS3 game consoles.

Setting up PlayStation Vue is easy: just download the app, open it, and you can start watching immediately. The streaming service will cost you at least $49.99 for the base or "Access" package, moving up to $59.99 for the "Core" package, and $69.99 for the "Elite" package. Users will be given a 7-day free trial to give the service a try.

The basic or "Access" package allows users to tune in on 50 channels, including network channels like CBS,  FOX, NBC, and Telemundo, as well as a wealth of cable fare like Comedy Central, Cartoon Network, CNN, MTV, FX, Fox Sports 1, USA, VH1, Spike, TNT, TBS, TCL and Syfy. Moving up to the mid-range "Core" package adds more channels to the base pack, including The Golf Channel, BTN, Yes, and TCM. Finally, with the "Elite" package, users can additionally also access channels like Chill, Discovery Life, FXM, LogoTV, Nat Geo Wild, as well as multiple music and Fox sports programming.

AMC and WEtv are included in all of the PlayStation Vue packages. However, the IFC and Sundance channels can only be tuned in by those who have availed of the "Core" and "Elite" packages. Sony at its PlayStation blog notes that it's brought in AMC to its subscribers just in time for Sunday night's The Walking Dead season finale. Other highly popular AMC shows include Mad Men which has only seven episodes left, the Breaking Bad spinoff, Better Call Saul, which is also off to a strong start with viewers.

PlayStation Vue can also let subscribers "record" any show on any channel. With its cloud-based recording features, users can store selected programming for up to 28 days with no storage caps.
