Former Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter was jailed after he got into a fight outside a bar in Key West called the Hog's Breath Saloon. The 35-year-old singer was charged with misdemeanour battery.

According to TMZ, officers took the famous BSB member into custody around 8:15 pm. Based on the Key West Police report, Carter was intoxicated when the officers arrived on the scene. According to the report, the incident took place because a bartender refused to serve the singer and his companion, Michael Rae Papayans of Palos Verdes Estates, California. The two became agitated because of this refusal and turned aggressive. This forced the bar staff to ask the two men to leave the premises.

Once outside the bar, however, Carter and Rae did not just go home without causing a ruckus. Once outside, Rae head-butted one staff and Carter grabbed a bouncer by the throat.

This incident worries fans that Nick just might be back to his drug and alcohol addiction. Although he never told the public he already kicked his alcohol addiction altogether, he did say he was working on it back in 2013. Speaking with the Hollywood Reporter, Carter shared that he was already "drug-free." At the same time, he shared that he already toned down his drinking habits. "I have had occasional drinks at times, and it's something that I struggle with because I'm not perfect," he said.

He said too that he likes the feelings of being clean and sober as opposed to being intoxicated. That is why even though alcoholism is a "struggle" for him, he is taking it one day at a time. He was optimistic that he is "winning the battle."  He added that people should start viewing him differently because he was far from the person he was before. "I thought about it, and who I am now, versus the person I was before, I'm completely different," he said then.
