Jonah Hill was recently spotted on Saturday in Los Angeles stepping out of the gym looking noticeably slimmer. The actor said he had been working hard to get in shape.

The 33-year-old actor looked almost unrecognizable when he showed off his toned torso in a navy t-shirt that was filled with sweat and paired it with black shorts. Jonah Hill also had a scruffy beard and his hair was slicked back as he made his way down the parking lot while carrying a water bottle. He has long been struggling with his fluctuating weight over the years.

Jonah Hill first made waves when he starred in the 2007 comedy Superbad, where he appeared thicker. Five years later, he starred in "21 Jump Street" with fellow actor Channing Tatum, and was at his then thinnest size so far, according to the Daily Mail.

Appearing as a guest on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon," Jonah Hill admitted that his desire to get in better shape materialized when he gained significant amount of weight while doing his 2016 film "War Dogs." In order to do so, he enlisted the help of Tatum. "And he said, 'Yes, you dumb motherf--, of course you will, it's the simplest thing in the entire world,'" he said, according to People.

Jonah Hill also revealed that his doctor told him to have a food journal, but admits that he once sent it to a famous person by accident. He recalls that he emailed his doctor out of boredom. "So I wrote down, yogurt, salad, chicken, whatever. And I sent it to him, and I looked back about an hour later at my sent messages because he didn't email back, and it must have been D-R, because he's doctor whatever, and I sent it to Drake," Hill said while laughing.

It is speculated that the actor's weight loss is in preparation for his next role in the upcoming Netflix original series "Maniac," which will see him reunite with his "Superbad" co-star Emma Stone. Jonah Hill will start filming the 10-episode series this August, according to Deadline.
