'Attack on Titan' Season 2 Will Only Have a Total of 12 Episodes Leaving Fans Disappointed

"Attack on Titan" has earned numerous accolades and has been nominated in several manga awards since it first premiered in 2009. Its anime adaptation has received critical acclaim due to its nature and storyline with critics saying that it represents how the young people feel hopeless these days. Now, fans feel somewhat disappointed when it was announced that the Japanese anime series will only have a total of 12 episodes.

The official "Attack on Titan" Twitter account revealed that season 2 will be released for Blu-ray and DVD in two different sets. Each set will pick up six episodes for a total of 12 episodes. According to Anime News Network, the first set becomes available beginning June 21 in Japan and the second half will be on Aug. 18. Both sets will also include a VR movie and the first is bundled with a pair of VR Goggles.

"Attack on Titan" creator Hajime Isayama previously said that the characters' development has occurred in season 1 and it will be continued in season 2. He went on to say that he acknowledges the fans' suggestions for the anime but he chose to only share the plans when season 1 concluded. It can be recalled that Isayama revealed that he initially planned reckless endings of the series. However, he realized that the anime adaptation deserves a healthier storyline.

Isayama also revealed that he somewhat have regrets about some of the scenes in "Attack on Titan" season 1 and would love to change them if only he can. He also said that he enjoyed working on the second season, which premiered on April 1. The series follows the story of Eren Yeager, who witnessed the murder of his mother and vows to kill all Titans. Together with his friends, he enlists in the military.

Meanwhile, many fans were disappointed upon learning that "Attack on Titan" season 2 will only have a total of 12 episodes after four long years of waiting. It can be recalled that season 1 had 24 episodes. This is one reason why most fans are unsatisfied with only 12 episodes this season.
