Stephen King's 'IT' Horror Movie Remake Breaks the Records for Trailer Viewership

The remake of "IT" horror movie has already broken records with its trailer. The teaser trailer has been watched by 200 million viewers within 24 hours of its release.

The movie is based on the Stephen King's novel with the same title. Last Wednesday, March 29, a teaser trailer of "IT" the horror movie was released. Within 24 hours after its release, the trailer has been watched by 200 million viewers as reported by Deadline. The trailer made its debut during the CinemaCon Las Vegas and many people anticipated the remake to continue the legacy of its novel and the TV series.

The novel, published in 1986 was so terrifying and followed by its miniseries in 1990, produced by Lorimar for Warner Bros. Television, with Tommy Lee Wallace directed the movie based on the script adapted from the movie by Lawrence Cohen. "IT" the horror movie capitalized the fear of clown among children and develop the horror from that fear. The musical score in the miniseries, composed by Richard Bells won the Emmy Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Music Composition for Miniseries.

This time, director Andrés Muschietti takes the helm of the remake. "IT" the horror movie will continue to follow the monster who can change its shape, but mostly it takes shape of the clown, known as Pennywise the Dancing Clown. This time the story takes place in 1989 to pick up the miniseries that took place in the 1960's. Chase Palmer and Cary Fukunaga are appointed the screenwriters to adapt the novel into the movie script.

Bill Skarsgaard is cast to become the terrifying jester as noted by Vanity Fair. The trailer does not show how Pennywise looks, but it gave the people who watched the 1990 miniseries a trip down memory lane. As the new "IT" the horror movie continues to follow the shape-shifting monster who return every 30 years to the city of Derry, Maine to kidnap and murder the children.
