Ashton Kutcher Gives Lessons on Character 101

It seemed only yesterday when Ashton Kutcher had to deal with infidelity rumors surrounding his painful divorce with then-wife, Demi Moore. Looking back, it was a devastating experience that he's very grateful for. Had it not been for that and all the major stumbling blocks he's encountered in his lifetime, he may not have been there in West Des Moines, Iowa over the weekend receiving the Robert D. Ray Pillar of Character Award.

In his acceptance speech, Ashton Kutcher said character comes when news about you being an adulterer is splashed all over the news and you need to be out there and perform the following day. He is referring to the time he felt like everyone was looking at him wondering if he had indeed committed adultery with his wife five years ago, per PEOPLE.

Ashton Kutcher also remembers the time when he was walking his cerebral palsy-stricken twin brother home from school and somebody hits him in the back of his head simply because some punk wanted to pick a fight with his sibling and he said 'no'. Ashton Kutcher also has no qualms about revealing how wife Mila Kunis kicks his ass every single day. He thought he was doing a great job that morning because he woke up early, helped with the kids before her wife was up and let her sleep a little bit more. But then Kunis tells him he can't act tired because this is something she does every day. And he agrees with her, one hundred percent!

Finally, Ashton Kutcher admits that his children are his life's biggest lesson in character. Once they had their kids he wanted to call his folks and tell them how sorry he was because he didn't realize how much he loved them. After getting divorced himself he now understands the impact, great loss, and what it's really about. How much love is put into now? Now he understands his parents' divorce in a whole new light.
