Teen Wolf Recap: To Catch a Kanima

This week's episode of "Teen Wolf" opens with Jackson getting a text and heading off to a rave in a zombie-like state that suggests he's not going there to dance.

At the sheriff's office, Stiles' dad reveals he's learned that all three murder victims were 24 (with the exception of Issac's dad who had a son who would have been 24 if you hadn't died in the war). Stiles suggests that might mean they were all in the same graduating class -- so they break out the yearbooks. They discover all three had the same teacher, and as the camera focuses on one particular yearbook picture we jump back to the club where that unfortunate girl gives Jackson a ticket as he gives her a creepy "I'm going to viciously murder you later" stare.

Meanwhile, Allison's dad takes her to the morgue, where, over the bodies of two of the murder victims, he guilts her into telling him that Jackson is the Kanima. At the vet's office Derek, Scott and Isaac gather around as Dr. Deacon explains that they don't simply want to catch Jackson, they also want to catch whoever is controlling him. He also suggests the Kanima's fear of water might actually mean whoever controls the Kanima is afraid to swim, and that by catching one they'll catch the other.

At school the next day, the lacrosse coach is extremely angry when he finds Jackson is missing from practice, but none of the players seem to know where he is. When Scott and Stiles start stressing out about their inability to get tickets to the rave where they believe the Kanima will strike next Issac helps them out by beating two tickets out of a passing student. Later, Scott and Allison meet up in an empty science lab where she fills him in on what her dad knows (leaving out the knowledge she gave him) and he suggests they pretend to date other people so her mom won't suspect their still together and subtly threaten him with more ominous pencil sharpening. However, that plan will be ineffective since her mom sees them kissing through a window in the classroom door.

Dr. Deacon gives Stiles a powder to spread around the building where the rave will be; it will form a barrier that will keep any supernatural creatures trapped, meaning Stiles is the only one who can handle it. He also explains for the barrier to take affect Stiles has to will it to work. That night at Allison's house her dad and the rest of the hunters prepare to bring down Jackson. While she's willing to help because she believes they're going to capture him when she leaves the room it's revealed that they intend to kill him.

Just as Stiles is leaving for the rave he runs into his dad -- who explains because of all the very public trouble Stiles has caused -- he was fired. At the rave, Scott sees Allison and follows her, explaining he plans to capture Jackson. She explains she told her dad about Jackson and he plans to take him down too. Scott storms off, asking Allison to stay out of the way. Derek and Boyd show up outside the rave and face off against the werewolf hunters, dodging bullets and withstanding tasers. Meanwhile inside Isaac is put in charge of injecting Jackson with ketamine to knock him out, failing the first time but eventually getting the drug into his neck.

Outside Stiles panics because he runs out of powder before he can finish his circle around the club's perimeter, but by willing it to work the powder magically extends. Also outside Allison's mother hits Scott full force with her car, dragging him off to a room, she fills with vaporized wolfsbane to kill him.

Issac, Stiles and Erica have a slightly sedated Jackson in one of the club's small rooms.The person controlling Jackson begins to speak through him, saying not only is he only killing murderers, all of the victims murdered him. Then the drugs wear off, Jackson becomes the Kanima, bursts from the room, and murders the girl from the yearbook photo.

As Scott lays dying Allison's mom taunts him for being a lone wolf, but when he howls Derek hears him and runs to rescue him. Derek gets him out in time to save his life, but it looks like in the process he bit Allison's mom.
